3rd Blogaversary Series Day 4
After diving into Ateez covers as a group, it is now time to see them shine individually. For the next three days we will be diving into member specific covers. As I said in my 3rd Blogaversary Series Day 1 post, because of their personal content being devoted to covers and their participation in Moving Voices, Hongjoong and Jongho have way more covers than the other members. Therefore, I will be splitting the posts into one each for Hongjoong and Jongho and then one for the remaining members. I am teetering on the edge between having 4 biases and 4 wreckers or being OT8, so the way I have chosen to divide my posts in no way is to show favoritism to any particular member, it is purely logistical when considering the amount of content each member has released.

At some point prior to me becoming Atiny, the members were asked to create personal content of their choice. Seonghwa chose ASMR, Yunho Anews, San became a food critic, etc. For his personal content Hongjoong chose to recreate songs by some of his favorite artists through covering them but adding his own personal flare in a series called, By. Hongjoong. These videos start small with Hongjoong being a one man show of producer, set designer, costume maker, and artist and gradually morph into a music video level production with a full team to support him.

Special Clip
Not going to lie, I was today years old when I finally realized this video was not a part of the By. Hongjoong series. It was kind of staring me in the face with the title not saying By.Hongjoong and instead saying Special Clip, but I never noticed. I love the fact that Hongjoong gave us a Christmas song. I wish he would release it so I could add it to my Spotify Christmas Playlist.

Beyond ASF
Hongjoong promised Atiny that he would do a busking session if his By. Hongjoong video hit over a 1 million views. His cover video for Linkin Park’s “Numb” was highly praised by Linkin Park member, Mike Shinoda, and surpassed 1 million views within a week of its release. Therefore, a busking event had to be scheduled. Hongjoong is a man of his word which bodes well for a certain other promise he made regarding a certain Be Original video that as of the time of writing this post is at 14,872,254 views. During this event, Hongjoong performed many of his By. Hongjoong covers and even did a cover of All About You with Maddox.

Moving Voices
In November of 2024 through January 2025, Moving Voices Munich, a show where idols come together to busk around a city, was aired. Both Hongjoong and Jongho participated as two of the cast members along with Sohyang, Henry, Zai.Ro, and other Munich cast members Sunwoo Junga, Nau, and Suzy. In these five episodes, cast members sang up to 60 different songs as solos, in duets or trios, and as a full group. This was a time for Hongjoong to show off his singing chops and he even threw in playing the harmonica for good measure.
